Baby showers....

have changed. This one yesterday was for a second baby and was a low key, casual, all they want is diapers kind of shower. I'm wondering if the girls throwing the shower were the most excited, not necessarily the parents. ;-) Of course, as is the trend these days, it was a co-ed/family shower. Thankfully due to the number of mini-me's attempting to trash the clubhouse there was no time for baby shower games. yay! The last baby shower I managed to drag myself to was when we had been TTC for about a year and were realizing that there was a problem. I still hadn't told too many people and was still trying to pretend like everything was cool. Now that it's almost 2 years later and all of our friends know about our situation, going to a baby shower is really odd. Of course there were 2 preggos and well, the couple being honored who have totally lapped us in the baby dept. (which just pisses off this competitive chick) Overall we weathered the storm. Scott and I stuck to hanging out with a couple of our friends but weren't too social with people we don't know. I felt weird and really wish I hadn't noticed when one of the organizers decided to take a "preggos" picture of the 2 other pregnant women with the guest of honor. *puke* I suppose we can call this one a success since there was no crying on my part, just a lovely hollow pit in my stomach....

There is another baby shower looming on the horizon...I've already decided not to go to it. I think I'll work on filling up my August with more fun activities instead.
