Perfect Moment Monday - Perfect Snow!

On Christmas Eve S and I lollygagged our butts out of bed to get ready to go to the mountains for the night.  We figured that since the skiing so far has been subpar, plus it was supposed to be butt-ass cold that we had plenty of time to get up there and we would just make a few turns in the afternoon.

Until I logged on to my computer to take a gander at e-mail before leaving.

Bea.ver Cree.k got 7 inches of new snow!

Mind you, it's now 9am and we're still in Den.ver.  *ahem*

We practically fell over each other throwing gear and food into the truck, grabbed the dog and hightailed it to the mountains.  Despite the fact we got on the mountain at 12:30pm, there was still some nice, soft powder to ski.

I had my first day of bombing through powder with no fear.  (don't ask how long that's taken)

Woo-hoo!

p.s.  It was butt-ass cold.  But at least all that work skiing warmed me up.  The lift rides on the other hand...
p.p.s.  It's also perfect that I'm not on freakin' Fe.mara like I was last year
