Hi, I’m Tara.

What started out as a private blog to document our adoption journey has evolved into my journey through therapy, spiritual awakening and whatever I feel like writing. Without our struggles to build a family, I’m not sure I’d be waking up, and for that I’m grateful.

S has been bugging me about scheduling a vacation before the end of the year.  He gets 3 weeks at his company but it never rolls over so he has to use it every year.  I get roll-over and I'm more in the saving mode for the maternity leave but he wins.  Since I can't convince him that it would be a good idea to take a week off and do stuff around the house (the first wave of nesting seems to be kicking in rather early) we decided to go all out.

7 day Carribbean cruise baby.  Wooo-hooo!!!

Now, I'm not one to get super excited about cruises given that they go against my more environmental bent, but it's the cheapest option given free plane tickets (thank you miles card that most of the kitchen remodel went onto) and I want a real beach vacation darn it. (I should probably mention that I'll hop on a plane to France in a heartbeat...not exactly enviro friendly either!)  I got screwed by Sa.n Die.go's "May Gray" earlier this year and I've been dying to get back to a beach ever since.

The best part is we're going right after Thanksgiving so it's like a week and a half vacation!  Yippeee!!!  I figure we won't be doing much other than a road trip or something close to home next year since we'll have to seriously save money after this boondoggle.  :)

Time to hit the gym harder.  :)

Oh, one more thing OT.  Send good vibes my way this afternoon please.  I have to get an ultrasound of my calf to rule out a blood clot.  Eeekkk!  Love doctors.  Me: "well, I don't really have risk factors for a blood clot".  My doc:  "You're a woman, that's a risk factor.  And your age plays into it too."  Dammit.
