Hi, I’m Geochick.

Welcome to my blog. What started out as a private blog to document our adoption journey has evolved into my journey through therapy and spiritual awakening. Without our struggles to build a family, I’m not sure I’d be waking up, and for that I’m grateful.

It's Winter People...

Well well well, there's nothing like coming home from 90 degree heat, humidity, clear turquoise water, white sandy beaches, and lazing around day after day to 20 degrees and snowing.  WTF.

I'm waiting for the appliance repairman to show up and once and for all fix our oven that broke 2 months after we bought it.  Lovely.  Guess I get a few more hours of "vacation".  This is the third appointment we've had - argh!

Vacation was fun!  Did some snorkeling, saw some sharks (one nurse shark, 3 lemon sharks), an eel, a barracuda, played with stingrays, and didn't do much else.  Although I did get bored enough on the boat to use the gym 4 times.

On St. Tho.mas we were pretty excited to see a couple of U.S. Vir.gin Isla.and beers and tried them out.  Then the reading of the label commenced: one is brewed in Minnesota and the other one is brewed in Maine.  We had a pretty good laugh over that one.

We bought a couple of baby items while on vacation.  The best one is a burp cloth we found in Sa.n Jua.n that has a stork embroidered on it and the saying "Finally I'm here!" in Spanish.  That seemed quite appropriate for us.  We've been on the list for 5 months now.  Wow.  I'm so happy we have the condo in the mountains this year.  Hopefully the ski season flies by since we'll be so busy using it every weekend!  At the end of that, it'll be 10 months waiting and I'm pretty sure I'll be getting super antsy.
