The visit went well, somehow I thought it was another inspection but it wasn't, she just had to take a quick tour of the house then sat down and proceeded to go through 20-30 questions. Here's where my lack of social skills kicks in. I totally forgot to offer anything to drink. *sigh* Of course S didn't think of that either. Oh well. She was nice but it was somewhat grueling to have to introduce ourselves again to a new caseworker and she definitely asked some questions trying to get a feel for how we interact/like each other.
I mentioned that my baby shower is coming up in a few weeks. She was surprised and carefully asked "how I felt about having a baby shower". Apparently this is unusual? I'm a planner, I want to have everything set up and ready to go. If I were pregnant I wouldn't be shelling out all my own money to do so, why should I just because I'm adopting? I realize that there are people who can't stand to walk by the baby's room during the wait and who are superstitious about gathering stuff before baby comes home but I'm not one of those people. Not in the least. So, yeah, the nursery (as soon as it's no longer a construction zone) is getting put together ASAP and it'll be one less thing I have to worry about.
We don't have an update where we are on the list, I forgot to ask before she came over. Maybe Monday. I'm kind of curious because they keep mentioning how much more outreach they are doing these days.
