Hi, I’m Tara.

What started out as a private blog to document our adoption journey has evolved into my journey through therapy, spiritual awakening and whatever I feel like writing. Without our struggles to build a family, I’m not sure I’d be waking up, and for that I’m grateful.

Nothing Better To Do

I’m currently traveling and in a week-long meeting, thankfully with guys I like, because well, it’s 9:30pm and we’re still in the office.  It’s pretty much been like this all week.  I knew it was going to be a difficult trip since I also had a dam inspection on Tuesday morning, thus reducing my time with the team and putting me behind schedule.  So, Monday was a relatively late night, Tuesday was a later night, Wednesday was ridiculous and tonight is ludicrous.  Anyway, I’ve got down time waiting on some reviews of documents, but can’t leave until the reviews either come in, or we all collectively say fuck it and reconvene in the morning.  Of course, everything has to be done by 3pm tomorrow so that those of us traveling can make our flights.  We’ll see how this goes.  I do not want to be on the 7pm flight back to Denver.  I know it exists, I know we could fly standby if we miss the earlier flight, but goddamn it, I want to go home.
I could be doing something useful with my time, like writing a paper for a conference that I’ve started.  I suppose I should have been working on that the last 45 minutes instead of checking out e-books from the library and reading some blogs.  *sigh*  Ah, such is the life of a master procrastinator.  The paper needs to go through a couple reviews and I’m fast running out of time.  I did get a tip from one of my friends.  The paper is required to be 10-15 pages, I don’t have that much that I can say (security is kind of a big deal), so she suggested lots of figures.  J  I like it!
S seems to be holding up pretty well acting as a single parent for the past week.  He finally asked his parents to come over to help out this afternoon, but he seems to want to do it all most of the time.

A good thing about travel and having movie channels in the room when you’re a captive audience is that I’ve managed to watch a couple of movies I wanted to see.  Meg.amind was not as good as I thought it would be, and I was a little disappointed that it wasn’t as funny as it looked in the trailer.  How to Train Your Dragon, on the other hand, was really cute and definitely rental worthy in the future.  And of course, if Young Frankenstein comes on, well, then, all bets are off and I’m staying up till 11pm.  J

Update on the Baby X tab too...
