I am obsessed with Downtown Abbey. Admittedly late to the party, I started watching it when we brought Baby Z home and have been blowing through the seasons one by one. S doesn't get the appeal as it's slow and melodramatic, so I have to watch the episodes when he's not around (only one TV in our house) or watch it on the computer. I prefer our big flat screen TV however, and will wait to be able to see the sweeping views of the English countryside in all it's glory. At first it was the perfect show to watch while I waited for Baby Z's late feeding at about 10:00pm or so. His feeding schedule is erratic however, and over the past few days he's been sleeping through that feeding. So, I find myself staying up late to "feed the baby", but really to devour another episode.
Last night I finished Season 3 and my thought at the end of the long finale was "Is there always death when babies are born?" Rolled my eyes, and realized, why yes, this is a soap opera. A well-acted, well-written, well filmed soap opera. I am steeling myself for Season 4. It may lose me and I'll have to find another show to get obsessed about. Or go back to watching the shows I was watching before my current obsession took hold!
