My commute to work has been waylaid by major highway construction for over a year. We're talking bridge removal and replacement, exit re-alignments, widening, it's been a freaking nightmare. On the way to to work there has been a persistent pinch point where everyone has to merge into one lane to get through the construction area. This morning, the pinch point was gone and that stretch of highway has been constructed to the final alignment. It was gloriously unfettered by traffic, and luxuriously open-feeling to zoom past the point that was a constant source of annoyance for months.
And that, made my morning.
